BKS Iyengar, the legendary guru who sparked a global yoga craze and reintroduced it to generations of
 Indians,died of kidney failure at the age of 95 in Pune on wednesday.If yoga is practised today all over the world by billions and billions of people ,it is only because of iyengar.


Asickly child who suffered from typhoid,TB and other multiple illness started going to iyengar for yoga classes.The child started learning yoga at the age of 15 and the child's life was changed into a healthy and playful at 18 years of age.That was the shock giving news to everybody,he didn't leave any stone unturned to make the child perfect in every sphere.Apart from this the queen of Belgium herself was thought the "sirasana" by iyengar.He set up iyengar yoga studios in 72 countries and published his book "light of yoga" in 1966 and this book is considered as the bible of yoga.He gave a royal quoting that is "live happily and die majestically" which was heart touching quote.he was born in Bellur near Kolar and moved to Bangalore when he grew up, after some time he went yo his brother in law to learn yoga and now he is a brand all over the world .People from far lands came to Mysore to learn short termed yoga from Iyengar so as to get relief from stress There were around 6000 students who came evry year to visit iyengar.He adopted 4 tigers and an African cheetah at the mysore zoo which was his favourite place.Let us allsalute the legend and pray for his soul to live in peace .
